I have a few followers now. These are people who inspired me to paint, I'm following their blogs, and we share on FB and other group sites. They are all wonderful people and exceptional artists. Each time I look at their work, it makes me want to keep improving my skill. I purchased the paints and paper in November,
and started out w/a bang. Painted a few for my home, and received some positive feedback. One artist
told me I was ready now to sell. So, I began to sell dog portraits on a simple request from a friend, she asked do you think you can paint this picture. I said sure, and that was the start of a very rewarding passtime. I have painted a few gifts for family, and have sold four dog portraits in the first month of painting!
Now, I know my prices are very low, but I figure people are paying me to practice and I'm getting some of my supply money back. As my skill improves I'll charge more. As a follower to my blog, I would appreciate any feedback you can give me - and if you think the work is horrible, I won't be offended.
THANK YOU - new followers, each of you are a inspiration to me and many other inspiring artists.
Pam, you should be very proud of the progress you have made in such a short time. You are a natural just imagine where you will be if you keep going at this rate! :)
ReplyDeleteThanks Krista! - Perhaps I can find some lessons on the weekend. Since I work full time, I will have to continue to practice on the weekends. Sometimes it just flows without effort. I think that having a passion for the subject really helps. I'm going to try flowers again soon.
ReplyDeleteI appreciate your comment and any suggestions you might have.
