Boston Terrier Commission step by step

As a portrait artist, I have to not only paint what I see but, sometimes what I cannot see.The eyes on cats and dogs shot with a flash are often distorted by the flash and turn out as a huge reflexion of a color other than the eye color. This was the case with this photo. The client was concerned about the eyes. I promised her I could fix them. Eyes are the most important feature of a animal, if you get the eyes right, the client can actually seen into the window of the soul with the portrait. This makes the animal come alive on canvas. I hope you enjoyed my step by step. I am not a teacher, but I do like to share my process.
